“My Main Instrument Since 2011” — Jean’s Model C-SS Guitar

I have bought my NK Forster model C-SS in 2011 (Indian rosewood and spruce) and have been using it as my main instrument ever since. It is a beautiful instrument, both visually and acoustically. The bass is strong and very dynamic, with delicate and round mediums and highs. It is a very well balanced instrument, very comfortable to play and loud. It works very well in sessions, where it is clearly audible even with dozens of other instruments around, as well as in studio recordings, with a beautiful and precise tone, and in concert settings, with a very clear and melodic sound. It is well suited to any type of music, although I am using it for Irish and Scottish folk mainly, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

“It is a very well balanced instrument, very comfortable to play and loud…A perfect instrument as far as I am concerned, and I’ve had it for 14 years.”

Yes, I am playing it all the time, it is my main instrument for concerts, sessions, and studio ! There is something about it that I’ve never found on any other instrument, a perfect balance between a loud volume, warm and heavy bass but also crystal clear treble that that doesn’t disappear in the bass, a very nice sustain and harmonics. A perfect instrument as far as I am concerned, and I’ve had it for 14 years. Here you can see it in action on my two latest albums, with Fourth Moon and The Unprepared.

Jean has played his Model C-SS for over a decade — in sessions, studios, and concerts. If you’re looking for a handmade guitar that can be your main instrument for years to come, let’s talk about what might be right for you. Click below and let’s make a start.
