I’ve been looking forward to stringing this one up. The EG3. My “top of the range” solid body electric. The all mahogany EG3 has a large but slimline solid body. The mahogany neck is joined to the body with a super minimal heelless joint.
The pickups are Aussie made Johnny Smith style humbuckers. The tuners are Gotoh 510. The Alpha pots are topped with solid ebony knobs, the guitar has a nice switchcraft 3 way, and a vintage paper in oil cap. It sounds great.
Custom hardware too – the pickup surrounds and tailpiece. I’ve even customised a lightweight aluminium Bigsby bridge to fit with both the sound and the look I was after.
The satin nitro finish looks lovely and feels great. I think of this as the solid body version of my “Charlie” archtop, that you can see in the previous post.
