Irish bouzouki build thread 4 – the back goes on

First, the ribs are cut to fit the curved back. After reinforcing the side and adding kerfed linings, the ribs are fitted again, trimming the linings flush. Once the humidity was down to where I wanted it, the back was glued into place. Then the large internal mould could be put back on the shelf. Its no longer needed.

The back is on, the neck angles are correct. The next step is to add the top kerfed linings, and to lightly seal the body interior with lacquer to minimise the intake of moisture. Then the body wil be ready for the soundboard.
